JAMMU, Feb 3: A 15 year old girl was allegedly raped by a shopkeeper at her residence here today in village Lilayal, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Police Station Kanachak. Police have registered a case in this regard and started manhunt to nab the accused.
As per police sources, the father of victim (name withheld) lodged a complaint in this connection to local police.
"As per complainant, one Gullu Ram son of Sardari Lal, a shopkeeper, taking the advantage of loneliness entered into his house which was situated close to his shop and committed rape upon his minor daughter, police sources said.
They said accordingly a case was registered under relevant sections against the accused while police took the girl to the hospital and got her medical examination. When contacted, a senior police officer said that police taking cognizance in this regard has launched a massive manhunt to arrest the accused who was absconding after committing the crime. |
