Rs 4.367 lac amount distributed among 40 beneficiaries under Handloom Development Project

Kishtwar, Feb 3: On the instance of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Assistant Director Handloom Development Department Kishtwar today distributed cheques amounting Rs. 4.367 lacs among the 40 selected beneficiaries for Group Approach Project for remote Machail Tehsil of Padder Sub Division of Kishtwar District under Comprehensive Handloom Development Scheme. Out of total 8.725 lacs released, the department released today 50% amount which was distributed for purchase of equipments (Looms) and construction of work sheds. On this occasion AD Handloom Development Mohammad Ashraf apprised that the project was sanctioned last year, but due to some reason it was not completed as a result of which the funds have been revalidated.
He assured the beneficiaries that left out 50% amount would be released on the completion of deficiencies with regard to work shed & looms. Arun Sharma, official from Prime Ministers Rural Development Fellow was also present in the function who educated the weavers of e- commerce & how the weavers could sell their hand made products in the national & International market by bringing in the use of information technology.
Beside Rajesh Kotwal District Nodal Officer For EDI & Amar Singh Sarpanch Padder were also present. Nodal Officer Rajesh Kotwal also educated the gathering on the subject and how they could get the loan through different Government Sponsored schemes to achieve self reliance & to create livelihood. Sarpanch Amar Singh thanked the Department on behalf of weavers community for such target approach benefit schemes to uplift the weavers community
