Training cum awareness camp for farmer held at Chatroo 2/3/2016 11:20:05 PM Early Times Report Kishtwar Feb 3: Agriculture Department under the leadership of District Agriculture Officer Kishtwar Sunil Kapahi today organized training cum awareness camp for farmers at Chingham Chatroo under Kissan Jagriti campaign in which several people from agriculture sector participated. The camp was inaugurated by Sub Divisional Magistrate Chatroo Masood Ahmed Qazi in presence Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer Marwah, Agriculture Extension Officer Chattroo, VAEA's , REZ & number of farmer of that area. While addressing the gathering SDM Chatroo Masood Ahmed Qazi said that people of Chatroo Sub Division and its adjoining areas are totally depend on agriculture and allied sector added that due to prevailing drought like situation in the area since last few years, the agriculture production in the area has reduced drastically added that same is the matter of concern not only for the farmers but also for the administration. Qazi emphasized on Agriculture department for organizing regular awareness camps in the Sub Division so that farmers could be educated about various crop related diseases and also about the drought resistant and hybrid seeds so that the agriculture production in the area could be increased. He said that DC Kishtwar had already showed keen interest towards making regular public awareness camps in far flung areas of the District so that people could be guide about various government run schemes which will give direct benefits to the poor people of the District. He said that after today's camp, he will also direct the other departments to hold similar camps in the various areas of Chatroo Sub Division so that people could get benefits of various govt schemes at door step. On this occasion the agriculture department also brief the farmers about subsidy pattern of CSS schemes & its benefits to them was also discussed in detail.
