Early Times report Jammu , Nov 16 Encouraged by a positive statement of the Election Commission and not in any mood to relent or wait for the next government, the associations of employees, including KAS officers, have literally announced to lock horns with government to press for immediate redress of their issues. The Joint Consultative Committee of the employees of all cadres, excluding All India Services, have been pressing for enhancement in their retirement age from 58 to 60 years and implementation of the recommendations of Sixth Pay Commission. Actively supported and inspired by the KAS officers association, the Joint Consultative Committee has called for pen down strike on November 20. “We want to convey to the State Government and Election Commission that we are one and we want our demands met”, said a spokesman of JCC. The Governor’s administration, it is learnt, had agreed in principle to address both demands but before it could do so the Model Code of Conduct came into force. Sumit Sharma Jammu, Nov 15: A trooper of Central Reserve Police Force was today shifted to the Government Medical College here after he survived an attack on his life by a colleague in a city hotel. A case of attempt to murder has been registered against Havaldar Somnath Dubey who allegedly slit the throat of Jawan Rajudhar in room of a hotel known as Shanker Hotel in the City last night. Agencies Mumbai, Nov 15: Lt Colonel Srikant Purohit allegedly procured 60 kgs of RDX from Jammu and Kashmir in 2006, a part of which is suspected to have been used in the Malegaon blast and also in the Samjhauta Express train explosions, the prosecution told a court in Nashik on Saturday (November 15), giving a new dimension to the ongoing Maharashtra Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) probe.
