JAMMU, Feb 15: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah by a stroke of pen has seemingly made coalition Government, of which Congress is a part, subservient to the interests of National Conference, of which he is Party President.
Legislative Assembly members of National Conference (NC), who are Ministers in the ruling coalition, have been asked to follow wisely made roaster vis-a-vis their attendance at the party headquarters in Jammu and Srinagar respectively. Omar as President of the Party, issued a roaster unilaterally without even taking his coalition partner, Congress into the confidence.
It needs a special mention that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah never issued any such roaster till the time Jammu NC was headed by a little known Rattan Lal Gupta and Kashmir by Ali Mohammed Dar, who is now a member of the upper house of State legislature. No such roaster was issued for the Ministers of the ruling coalition during the last four years. But when two close buddies of Omar offered a so-called sacrifice, from MPs to MLAs to MLCs to Ministers, all were summoned to the two par...

| | | | NC's lie caught; Not UPA, Congress hanged Guru | | Kamaal, Tanveer defend being in power with New Delhi | | | Syed Junaid Hashmi
JAMMU, Feb 15: State Congress which was until yesterday 'responsible for all ills in Jammu and Kashmir' has overnight become guardian of the interests of Kashmir people and is not related to New Delhi Congress.

This is what Additional General Secretary of NC Dr. Mustafa Kamaal as well as the spokesman for Kashmir valley Tanveer Sadiq wants us all to believe. They have saying this in response to justification being sought from them for continued relationship with Congress in the State...
| | | | Time to stop terming Mirwaiz as moderate | | Pandering to regressive forces | | | Neha
JAMMU, Feb 15: It is time to stop terming APHC-M chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and his outfit "moderate". Mirwaiz is not "moderate". He is more fanatic than APHC-M chairman and Jamaat-e-Islami leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani. In fact, he is more dangerous than Geelani and other Kashmiri separatists. He is more dangerous like certain "mainstream" Kashmiri leaders who masquerade as "sane" elements in the Kashmiri society seeking settlement of the so-called Kashmir issue through discussion and dialogue in the sense that he speaks in different languages. Geelani is dangerous but not so dangerous because his views are too well-known; because he says things without mincing words; and because ev...
