Jammu, March 19: Taking lid off the much stressed suspense, the Bhartiya Janta Party today declared names of its nominees for two Lok Sabha seats of Jammu Division.
BJP’s Central Election Committee today cleared the names of Leela Karan Sharma for Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha constituency and Dr Nirmal Singh for Kathua-Udhampur-Doda constituency. Both candidates were felicitated here at the BJP heaquarters by the party activists.
Leela Karan Sharma recently resigned as convener of the Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti which had spearheaded two-month long agitation on Amarnath land row in Jammu during July-August last year. Dr Nirmal Singh, who recently lost Assembly elections in Gandhi Nagar constituency, will be contesting Lok Sabha election for third time. He had earlier unsuccessfully contested 2001 by-elections and 2004 general elections on Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha constituency.

Srinagar, March 19: The Jammu and Kashmir police today filed a case against Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel for allegedly killing a civilian in his home in Pulwama district even as the Force ordered a court of inquiry and placed four of its personnel under suspension.
"Police has filed a case under section 302 against CRPF personnel for killing a civilian in his home last night and has asked the Force to hand over the men involved for an identification parade before the victim's kin," official sources said today.

Srinagar, Mar 19 : As many as 24 guests arrived here from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) while the Karvan-e-Aman was empty as no Kashmiri travelled to the other side.
Official sources said that 24 guests, including six women and two children, arrived here from POK to meet their relatives after their separation during the 1947 partition.
The guests travelled from Muzaffarabad, the capital of POK, to Chakoti, the last Army post on other side of the Line of Control (LoC) in a bus. However, they deboarded the bus and crossed the Aman Setu ( peace bridge) on foot.

New Delhi, March 19: Arun Jaitley, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) general secretary and chief strategist, Thursday attended a poll panel meeting at party president Rajnath Singh's residence, in what appeared to be an exercise to paper over the much discussed cracks in the party.
A miffed Jaitley had reportedly been staying away from key meetings of the party after Rajnath Singh appointed businessman Sudhanshu Mittal as the co-convenor for the Lok Sabha campaign in the north-east.
