In J&K armed guards are provided to separatists to preach secession | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 19: Kashmiri separatist leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq inaugurated a seminar on the alleged human right violations in Geneva (Switzerland) the other day while using an Indian passport to reach there.
More than two dozen armed guards have been placed for the security of this separatist leader who are both static and mobile, guarding his residence and also moving around with him as he visits places to tarnish the country's image and preach secession. It has become fashionable for the pampered Kashmiri separatist leaders to use all the privileges from the State Government and also wage campaigns against the country. Another separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani a...
| | What has coalition Govt achieved? | Autopsy of official claims | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 19: The National Conference led Government issues statements on a daily basis. Besides washing dirty linen in public, the Government more often than not boasts of its achievements. However, an autopsy of the achievements and statements reflects its failure almost on every front.
The Government boasts of holding Panchayat elections, passing the Public Service Guarantee Act, the RTI, upholding the press freedom and above all announcing the Sher-e-Kashmir Employment Package.
Well as far as Panchayat elections are concerned, the hollowness of the exercise has started dawning on the people. Around 500 members have already resigned in Kashmir valley alone. The ...
| | A ritualistic forum for rhetoric by Govt....! | Apex Committee meeting: A holiday for members in Kashmir this time….? | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 19: The Apex Committee meeting of Kashmiri Pandits held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday is once again under scathing attack from a host of KP organizations, genuinely so on the points and loopholes they have picked up in context of its unfruitful outcome. For the government, it was just another routine meeting to meet the formality and fulfill the 'hollow obligation' towards the community. And for the present members who have shrunk considerably after government's 'dictatorial' order asking some meaningful members to stay away , it was certainly a paid holiday to the Kashmir.
The criticism from certain quarters ...
| | Embarrassing situation for BJP media cell | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 19: Confusion profounds the high tech BJP Media Cell and the party which is yet to overcome the shock of cross voting by its seven MLAs in 2010 with a newly inducted office bearer by passing it and leaking the reports to media putting the party leadership in an embarrassing situation.
This over ambitious office bearer of the Party who has been recently inducted in BJP has on various occasions taken a unilateral decision on party matters and leaking the information either to media or making statements on his behalf. Such a behavior of a junior functionary of the Party has put the senior leadership in an embarrassing situation especially when other membe...
| | In J&K police, there's always room at 'top' even for those switching sides swiftly | | | Bharat Bhushan
JAMMU, Sept 19: The one-time PDP loyalist police officers are now swearing loyality to NC-Congress regime. Those, who were benefitted a lot when PDP-led Government was in power in the State, now don't hesitate to say that they were actually a "victimised" lot.
These officers have a track record of switching loyalities. When NC lost power in the State and PDP formed Government with the Congress support, they were the first to knock at the doors of PDP cadres who had an easy access to the corridors of power. To get plum postings, some even went to the extent of assailing NC policies in public conversations. But now when PDP is out of power, they are back to NC "fold".

| | Congress speaks language of separatists | Causing Affront To Jammu's Self-Respect | | Rustam
JAMMU, Sept 19: The Indian nation is very strong. It is not afraid of Pakistan, or even China. Nor is it afraid of Kashmiri separatists like Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and others of their ilk. It has comprehensively defeated Pakistan in the past four times and it will defeat it again as and when required. The nation's problem is the Kashmiri leaders, who call themselves "mainstream" politicians but miss no opportunity to subvert the polity both from within and outside in their desperate bid to get the State out of the political and Constitutional organization of India.
Some of them demand autonomy. Some of them demand self- rule. And some of them say autonomy or sel...
