Jammu, Mar 14: Crime Branch, Jammu nabbed an absconder who was evading his arrest for the last seven years but the same got bailed out just after the a day of his arrest today. According to reports one absconder identified namely as Sandeep Gupta S/o Bal Krishan Gupta R/o Ashok Nagar Nai Basti Satwari, Jammu was held from Jalandher, Punjab on March 13 who had gone underground about seven years ago. "The accused is involved in case FIR No. 07/2006 u/s 420 RPC,138 N.I.Act P/S Crime Branch, Jammu, reports said . Brief facts of the case are that a written complaint was lodged by Shri Ved Bhushan Seth S/o Thakur Dass Seth R/o 59/AB Gandhi Nagar, Jammu alleging therein that the accused Sandeep Gupta and his wife were running Tuition Centres at different places of Jammu city under the name and style "City College" and the year 2004, son of the complainant passed 12th class examination and approached the accused for arranging admission in D.Y.Patil College, Pune who lured the complainant to pay Rs.2,65,000/-. The complainant was asked to pay Rs one Lac to the accused person as advance payment. The complainant and his son went to Pune where they came to know that the admission had been closed and added they approached the accused to return the money and finally he issued two different cheques which bounced. The absconder after his arrest was produced before the Court of Judicial Magistrate Ist Class, Jammu today this afternoon wherefrom he has been bailed out by the court. |
