Jammu, Mar 14: The state government had to face an embarrassing situation at least twice in the House today prompting the Deputy Speaker Muhammad Sartaj Madni who was in chair to express his dissatisfaction on the seriousness of the government.
The in-charge Minister Home, Sajad Ahmad Kichloo was not available in the House at the time he was to reply a listed question of National Conference leader Dr. Mustafa Kamaal on number of vehicles plying on National Highway in a year and the strength of Traffic policemen posted on the highway from Jammu to Srinagar. In his absence Minister for Medical education, Taj Mohiuddin started replying on behalf of the home minister but could not satisfy the chair. Taj first read out the written reply to the question of Kamal, however, when Kamal asked supplementary, Taj was clueless prompting the chair to defer the question and pass the remarks, " I am not satisfied with the process, I defer the question"
Earlier when Peer Afaq Ahmad of NC raised his listed question and the Deputy Speaker asked the Minister In-charge Urban Development Nawan Rigzin Jora to reply the question pertaining to his department, he, for a while, lost his steadiness and started searching the file on his table. This added to the chaos and the deputy speaker had to pass some remarks again. |
