Bashir Assad Jammu, Mar 14 : The Jammu and Kashmir assembly Thursday witnessed pandemonium during the question hour with opposition NPP and BJP members demanding discussion on the adjournment motion moved by NPP in the House on the situation that has arisen in the state after the killing of 5 CRPF personnel in a militant attack on Wednesday while as M Y Tarigami of CPI(M) and Hakim Muhammad Yasin of PDF and Peer Afaq Ahmad, Irfan Shah and Shamima Firdous of ruling National Conference and Independent MLA, Er. Rashid demanding a statement from the government on the killing of a youth in Zoonimer area of Srinagar city in CRPF firing. As soon as the house met here today, Tarigami, Hakim Yasin, Peer Afaq, Irfan Shah, Er. Rashid were on their feet demanding a statement from the government over the Kashmir situation and members of NPP and BJP pressing for discussion on adjournment motion moved by them over the killing of 5 CRPF personnel in "fidayeen attack' in Srinagar on Wednesday. NPP and BJP members wanted that the chair should announce its decision as to whether the motion moved by three NPP members seeking discussion over the killing on 5 CRPF persons in militant attack is allowed. M Y Tarigami of CPI(M) while shouting at the treasury benches said that violence in all its forms and manifestations was condemnable. He said though the chief minister made a statement over the killing of CRPF in militant attack which was appreciated by he skipped to condemn the killing of an innocent youth by CRPF in unprovoked firing which was not acceptable. "Don't communalize the deaths, we condemn all forms of violence, where we condemn the militant attack on CRPF camp, we should condemn the killing of the innocent youth in CRPF firing in strongest possible terms and doing politics over the issue" said Tarigami. Latter talking to Early Time Plus outside the House, Tarigami said that it was shame for those who want to communalize the situation. Earlier Chairman , PDF, Hakim Muhammad Yasin strongly condemned the killing of one youth in Srinagar in CRPF firing saying that the person was the only son and sole bread earner for the family. It was unfortunate that the government has not yet responded to the situation and it seems that the government was functioning on remote control from Delhi. "When will you come up with the statement, why are you so irresponsible, what you are going to do, what has happened to your conscience" Yasin posed questions to government. However, sensing the mood of the house, Deputy Speaker, Muhammad Sartaj Madni directed the government to come up with a statement after the question hour on the issue which pacified the situation and agitating members took their seats. |
