Jammu, Mar 14: Delhi Public School organized a term-end orientation program to refresh its teacher resources, here today. According to press release, the session was started with welcoming of guest of the day Dr. Pawan Malhotra, Prof. and HOD Department of Pharmacology, ASCCOMS Jammu and presentation of bouquet to him by the Headmistress DPS Jammu Ruchi Chabra. Dr. Malhotra discussed the application of nano-technology in the field of medicine and the use of stem cells and their synthetic development. He informed about the role of nano-technology in diagnostics in therapeutics. Speaking on the revolutionary uses of nano-technology for patient care, Dr. Malhotra said that its best outcome could be felt in case of infectious diseases like Cancer and AIDS and H1N1. He further highlighted the use of Robotic surgery for better results precision which was followed by a very interesting video presentation detailing how this surgery is performed. His talk on the use of stem cells for diseases related to coronary artery and diabetes. Poonam Chodhary, PGT English and Dietitian, highlighted the role and importance of balance diet and its effect on adults and children. Speaking on the occasion, S S Jamwal, Chief General Manager Transport DSP explained in detail about the guidelines of the Supreme Court of India and the instructions issued by the Traffic Police Department of Jammu regarding safety measures for the children in the school buses. The Principal, Sudarshan Sonar thanked all the resource persons for giving the teachers a healthy exposure to the field distinct from their routine gamut, and also for updating them in the areas of the educational set-up. |
