JAMMU, Mar 14: Organised by the Campus Sports Committee in association with Department of Sports and Physical Education, the Inter-Department Sports Meet of University of Jammu shall start from March 18 on the campus, here.
As per the laid down fixture, the sports meet shall start with competitions in women section.
All the four events of Carrom, Chess, Badminton and Table Tennis shall resume on March 18 at Gymnasium Hall on the campus.
Similarly, the men’s sports meet, which included two more events of volleyball and cricket, shall take place from March 25 at different venues within the campus.
However, the men’s Twenty20 Cricket Tournament shall be played from April one. For cricket event, 27 teams, representing as many departments, shall compete for the top honours on knock-out basis.
Meanwhile, in a letter addressed to head of the participating departments, Director Sports and Physical Education, Prof Dhian Singh Bhau has advised to depute teacher (games) incharge with the teams to help the organizers conduct the event in a smooth manner.
