et plus report Jammu, Mar 14: MJR47- Movement for Justice for Refugees of 1947 from PoK (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir) in a meeting held here today appealed state government to take up their case to center for relief and packages to the displaced people of 1947. In a meeting of the executive committee of MJR47, Movement for Justice for Refugees of 1947 from POK, while discussing the issues of PoK refugees opinioned that lip services have been pouring since last six decades but without any positive outcome for the refugees of 1947. Members said that Minister of State for Rev & Relief had called a meeting of representative of various organisations of refugees of 1947,'65 and '71 from POK and discussed the issues and noted their concerns and also had assured to redress the grievances. “But the dire need of the hour is that state govt has to take up case of PoK refugees for relief and packages with the centre, the members observed and said, “state govt yet has not sent any such proposal to the union govt till date. Speakers also highlighted their demands including: Reservation of seats for higher studies, Special quota for jobs in govt. service, political reservation at least 8 seats out of the 24seats kept reserved for the residents of POJK, reimburse the deposits left by refugees in the branches of J&K Bank in the POK before partition and allotment of land to refugees. MJR47 members appealed to Chief Minister to intervene and redress their miseries by mitigating their problems.
