Jammu, Aug 20: Girl students of United Public Hr Sec School Channi Himmat today in a unique ceremony celebrated auspicious occasion of Rakshabandhan, by ties sacred thread of emotions on the wrist of Border Security Force (BSF) jawans at Suchategarh India-Pakistan international border in Jammu. According to official spokesperson of school the Rakshabandhan is a Hindu festival to mark the emotional bond between sisters and brothers irrespective to age or creed and school students sharing the joys and fervor of festivity with Jawans who are far away from their people decided to celebrate the festival with at BSF Jawans deployed at Indo-Pak Border. During the ceremony children were familiarized with the customs and rituals followed on Rakshabandhan were told about the sacred bondage between a brother and sister and how a rakhi symbolizes the sister's love and prayers for her brother's well-being and the brother's life long pledges to protect her. Speaking on the occasion, Rajni Sharma, Principal of school, due to nuclear families, children today are deprived of true spirit of such festivals. Such celebrations teach students about our traditions. |
