| Babu Singh calls on XEn Irrigation, demands restoration of distributors | | |

Kathua, Aug 21: A deputation led by former Minister Babu Singh and chairman of Nature-Mankind Friendly Global Movement Dr. Karam Chand today called on Xen Irrigation Department and demanded restoration of 2 Kms distributor D5. The deputation was comprised with large numbers of villagers and farmers and activists of the Nature-Mankind Friendly Global Movement.
While apprising the demands to Irrigation officials, the Babu Singh said that distributor D5 is linked with Kashmir canal since long for both irrigation purpose as well as to manage the rains water to avoid the any gushing and water logging into the villagers houses. He further said that but after the construction of road this distributor was covered with concrete due to which the drainage gets blocked and the rains was forced to divert into the houses of the villagers due to which the property as well as the entire normal life was badly affected. Singh demanded the resumption of the distributor again so that the water could make its flow in proper manner and free the villagers from severe water logging. |
