Jammu, Aug 21: Chief Engineer Western Command Major General Vishw ambhar Singh and Chief Engineer Sampark Project UC Mehta today visited the construction site of the prestigious cable stayed bridge over the river Ravi at Basohli. The bridge is being constructed by Project Sampark of Border Roads Organisation (BRO). Ravi Bridge situated at Basholi is a 592 meter long Cable-Stayed Bridge over two Pylons. Bridge is scheduled to be completed by Sep 2014. This Bridge will be the first such Bridge of its kind, in entire northern India and the third such Bridge in entire India, after Hooghly and Rajeev Gandhi Sea Link in Mumbai. After inspection of ongoing works, the Chief Engineer Western Command expressed his satisfaction regarding the progress of work and reiterated the commitment of Border Roads Organisation to ensure the completion of the Bridge well within the scheduled date of completion of September 2014. |
