Jammu, Aug 21: Raksha Bandhan, that symbolizes the unmatched bond of love, care and respect between brother and sister, was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Jammu University and a kite flying festival was organized by department of Students Welfare.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mohan Paul Singh Ishar said that the festival symbolized the sacred bond of love, trust and commitment between sisters and brothers.
"It is an occasion for us to dedicate ourselves to the well-being of women and in particular, the girl child. Prof Ishar further said that the traditional cultural values of respect for women need to be fully entrenched in our minds, "The function was organized by the Department of Students Welfare .The University officials and employees gathered to celebrate this happy occasion. |
