Kathua, Sept 4: Former MLA Babu Singh demanded to bring all political parties under the ambit of "Right to Information" Act in order to bring the transparency and to promote the fair and genuine politicians in the Indian political system. In a statement issued, Babu Singh said that the common man has no good words for the any political parties and politicians because of criminalization the politics. He said people were appreciating a landmark judgment which was taken in few months back by the Central Information Commission (CIC) has ruled that political parties come within the ambit of the Right to Information Act. He said that the judgment has far reaching implications on the functioning of political parties. He argues that transparency is good for all State organs as well as for political parties, which, in reality, control all the vital organs of the State. "The criticality of the role being played by these political parties in our democratic set-up and the nature of duties performed by them also point towards their public character, bringing them in the ambit of Section 2(h). All the political parties to come forth voluntarily to make available details of financial contributions received by them and the donors' names and addresses," he said. |
