Why is Kichloo not going to Kishtwar?
9/5/2013 12:41:01 AM

Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 4: Since the communal clashes broke out in Kishtwar on August 9 and the Minister of state for Home Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo had to resign after public pressure, he hasn't get back to his home constituency.
Kichloo is moving between Jammu and Srinagar and has left the people of his home constituency on the mercy of God. First he didn't do anything to protect lives and property of people when the communal clashes broke out, now he is not visiting his home constituency. It looks like that Kichloo has taken a back seat after he lost his ministry and doesn't think like a elected member of legislative Assembly from Kishtwar.
At this point of time people in the area are in need of the support from local leaders to get back to normal life and when an elected member could be the biggest force at this point of time, Kichloo seems to have taken lethargic approach and is sitting with his party leaders in Jammu and Srinagar.
He should understand his responsibility towards the area and people who have suffered a huge loss in terms of life and property. Scores of homes, whose livelihood was dependent on shops, which were burnt during the clashes, are in deep shock. They are not in a position to restart their business for which they need lakhs of rupees and government hasn't provided them a single penny so far.
This point of time the local MLA should have stood by his people after seekinig apology for his role during the clashes. Whether he was involved in the riots or not is a debatable issue and the judicial commission appointed would be bringing the truth to the fore but till than Kichloo should have adopted a positive role in mitigating the problems of people of his home constituency.
Instead of doing his job, the MLA Kishtwar is on the job to target his opponents who due to some reasons are not with him or oppose him politically.
Sources in the National Conference said that Kichloo has been assigned the job to hit back hard on his political opponents, irrespective of party. "He has got the free hand from his high command and now he is waiting for the opportunity. When the judicial commission will prepare its report and submit to the government, Kichloo will head toward Kishtwar to play politics on the issue," sources said.
Till than he is not going to visit the area and will keep maintaining distance from his own people.
