early times report Kathua, Sept 4: The Management School at Kathua Campus, University of Jammu today organized a workshop on 'Transactional Management: Building on Personality and Communication' for the MBA students. Abhimanyu Dev Singh Billawaria, Director and Founder of Communication County; , Pune was the trainer. His core expertise are personality development, NLP, business soft skills development, accent and pronunciation training. He learnt the art of public speaking from University of Cambridge and is associated with University of Washington. Professor Neelu Rohmetra, Rector, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu welcomed the resource person and students of MBA programme to the workshop. She highlighted the importance of transaction management as a core competence laid stress on the practice of the openness, collaboration, trust, autonomy, proactivity, authenticity, confrontation and experimentation) so as to become successful in the corporate world. She further emphasized upon the art of assertion based on conviction in business world. She said all conversation and communication must be based on facts and sense of purpose. "Bias and prejudice severely affect effective communication and thus transactions", she added. She also placed value on the element of confrontation, guided by positive outlook in the overall management of transactions. The second half of the workshop began with the dramatization of perception management and 'BPHAST' technique by the students in groups. After this activity; Mr Abhimanyu continued with making students familiar with corporate culture by emphasizing on how to conduct business meetings. In this he deliberated on various aspects like preparation of agenda, minutes of meeting, effective handling of the meetings, language pattern adopted etc. With this he also emphasized on the importance of handling organisational politics and various techniques of conflict management in an organization. He elaborated on the value of accepting healthy criticism. The workshop was well received by the participants. The faculty members at Kathua Campus also contributed towards the deliberations. The Valedictory session was chaired by Dean Academic Affairs Prof. Neelam Saraf and Prof. B.C. Sharma, dean Students Placement. Prof. Neelu Rohmetra, Rector Kathua Campus was also present on the occasion.
