early times report Jammu, Sept 4: A prize distribution ceremony was organized by the Co-curricular committee of MIER College of Education in order to recognize the achievements and efforts of the students. The students who had excelled in different activities and sports events during the session were honoured and awarded with certificates and medals. Among the awardees were the best all round student, best NSS volunteer, best student in cultural events, most regular student, best maintained classroom of the year, etc. Prizes were given away for other events which were held during the session like essay writing competition, symposium, poetry recitation etc. In all about 250 certificates and 130 medals were awarded to the students. The Chief Guest of the function was Arun K. Gupta, chairman MIER and Renu Gupta, director and principal MIER was the Guest of Honour. Arun K Gupta addressed the students and congratulated them on their achievements. He said that it always feels great when one's efforts are recognized and this motivates one to strive for higher achievements in life. Here at MIER the efforts of each individual are appreciated. He reminded them that these certificates and medals are memoirs of the college and will remain with them throughout their lives. Gupta urged the students to work hard and try to achieve greater goals in academics and other areas and be role models and ambassadors of the college. He wished them all the success in their forth coming examinations and life. The function was attended by Adit Gupta, joint director MIER, B.L. Raina, HoD M.Ed wing, H.R. Shan, head Research Wing, P.L. Koul, OSD MIER, Annie Koul, HoD B.Ed General, Rajendra Praveen HOD B.Ed Spl. Edu., and Usha Chunni, sports officer MIER along with the faculty and the students of MIER College of Education. Annie Koul, HOD B.Ed wing extended a warm welcome to all the dignitaries and the students. The programme was conducted by Himani Jalotra and Priyanka Gupta, students of B.Ed. Komal Sharma, convener co-curricular committee formally presented the vote of thanks. |
