| JCC strike paralyses work at Government offices | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 10 : The pen down strike of Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) of employees of various Government Departments of the state has paralyzed the work in all the government offices in Jammu on Tuesday. A complete Bandh has been observed in all the departments with number of protests in different department of Jammu region. Employees were on Two-day strike against the government for not fulfilling their demands from today. But no violation or arrest has been reported so far in Jammu. Senior Leader of JCC, Mohd Gafoor Dar said, "The employees of the entire state government departments, including secretariat employees observed complete shut down today under the banner of JCC and protest demonstrations also took place." The general public also suffered due to the strike, as the all the non-gazetted staff was not on their seat during the office hours. JCC leader informed, "The government has been failed to fulfill its commitment and assurances given to the employees on July 2012, and then once again we gave time to the government to address our grievances, but there was no response from the government."The employees are demanding the Regularization of daily wagers and contractual employees of PSU's, enhancement of retirement age from 58 to 60 years and removal of grade anomalies of PSU's. The 4.5 lakhs government employees in both Jammu and Kashmir regions observed complete shutdown under the banner of Joint Consultative Committee (JCC), demanding that their demands should be addressed as soon as possible. |
