Avinash Azad Jammu, Sept 10: Strange but true; a government teacher, who gets a salary of Rs 30,000, is using his influence to sell practical note books to earn Rs 1870. Ravinder Sharma owner of Uppal General Store, Karah block Akhnoor alleged that science Teacher of 9th class at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Karah, Jiya Lal has been forcing students to buy the Practical Note Books from him for each session since last three years. "Being a remote area there is no book store in Karah, the students of GHSS Karah approached me to provide Practical note books, on their request, I purchased 55 practical note books from Jammu," said Sharma. However, according to students, he has been coercing them to buy the note books from him only. "I'm facing huge loss as the note books are laying useless", he said, adding that he was doing a social job by availing the note books in the area. He said, "Government who is getting a salary of Rs 30,000, for sake of Rs 1870 as profit after sale of the note books, is forcing the students, to get the same from him. The practice is being done by the teacher since last three years." However, when contacted, Principal GHSS, Karah D K Sargotra said that he was not aware about it. "I can't comment over the issue, as I am not aware of it", he said, adding that he would enquire the matter and such practice would not be allowed. |
