| Shopian incident: Curfew, clashes continues for 3rd day | | Police refuse to register FIR | | Javaid Naikoo srinagar, Sept 10: Amid curfew and massive clashes third day today in many parts of south Kashmir's Shopian district following the killing of four persons in a firing incident on Saturday, the family of deceased alleged that despite clean chit in the case, police is refusing to launch a first information report (FIR) against central reserve Police force (CRPF). According to the details , Curfew was imposed strictly in parts of Shopian district as a precautionary measure to avoid any untoward incident following the 'shopian chalo'call given by separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani. However reports of massive stone pelting incidents and allegations of people against CRPF for destroying the private property were received throughout the day from many parts of the area. Massive stone pelting reports were received from Gagren, Meemendar, Kanipora, Aliyalpora, Tukroo, Shirmaal, Bongam, Baba Mohalla and Malik Mohalla areas despite heavy deployment in these areas to foil the 'shopian chalo'call given by Hardliner separatist Syed Ali Shah Geelani. Locals of main town shopian who are on demand to remove the CRPF camp from Gagren shopian from last two days and are on sit in protest near Gagren CRPF camp and people from Kanipora, Tukroo, Shirmal who tried to defy the curfew to enter inside main town while talking to Early Times said that CRPF is vandalizing private property. At a time when Shopian incident has taken an astonishing mode following the recent statement of police and CRPF in which on the one hand police says that three out of four persons killed in shopian incident and identified as Tawseef Ahmad Bhat resident of Baba Mohalla Shopian, Mohammad Yousf Sofi resident of Durpora, Zainapora, Shopian and Tariq Ahmad Mir resident of Okay, Kulgam do not have any record of militancy and on the other hand CRPF officials while talking to media persons claim that the said people were involved in militant activities and it possessed proofs against them. Station House Officer (SHO) shopian, Irshad Ahmad in refused comment on the issue while as superintendent of Police Shopian, Mumtaz Ahmad Khan did not pick up the phone despite repeated attempts. |
