early times report JAMMU, Sept 10: District Development Commissioner, Jammu, Ajit Kumar Sahu today flagged off Hajj pilgrims of Jammu district from Hajj House, Rail Head Complex Jammu here this morning for onward journey to Jeddah from Srinagar International Airport. It was apprised that a total 65 devotees, which include 38 males and 27 females from Jammu district would perform Hajj this year. While interacting with Azmeen-e-Hajj (Hajjis), the DDC prayed for their good health during the voyage and safe return to their homes. The Hajj pilgrims expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by Hajj & Aquaf and civil administration for their boarding and lodging and other arrangements at Jammu. Liaison Officer, Main Khan also proceeded to Srinagar alongwith Hajj pilgrims for their convenience enroute. Meanwhile, the DDC also took stock of healthcare, transport and other facilities being made available to the Hajj pilgrims at Hajj House by different departments. SSP, Jammu, Atul Goel, senior officers of Haj and Aquaf, besides officers of other concerned departments and prominent citizens were present on the occasion. Meanwhile, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Rajeev Kumar flagged off Haj pilgrims here today at D.C office complex. The batch of 40 Azmeen-e-Haj comprising 9 females and 31 males will reach Srinagar this evening from where they will be airlifted to Jeddah on September 11, 2013. |
