| RTI activist offers to surrender | | SIC's direction to lodge FIR | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 26: The Right to Information (RTI) activist Rajkumar, son of Anant Ram of Keran Bantalab, against whom Jammu and Kashmir State Information Commission had leveled allegations of threatening and has directed SSP Jammu to lodge FIR against him, has written an application to SSP Jammu for voluntarily surrender. In the application, Raj Kumar has appealed SSP Jammu to register FIR as directed by JKSIC, following which he would surrender before SSP. He further said that he never went against law and was ready for voluntarily surrender before SSP or Judge. He has further maintained that his four complaints were pending in the office of SSP Jammu. "Four complaints against me are pending before you, out of which two are recommended by IGP Jammu. One of those complaints is against SIC, in which I had submitted a CD of threatening call by SIC officer terming him (Raj Kumar) as terrorist", he said, adding that so far no action had been taken. The state Information commission had directed SSP Jammu to book Raj Kumar for threatening the Commission staff. In its complaint lodged to the SSP Jammu the Commission through Deputy Registrar said that one Raj Kumar whose case has been heard by the Chief Information Commissioner and State Information Commissioner Jammu and directions have also been passed in his case to the concerned authorities. According to complaint, Raj Kumar threatened employees of this Commission of dire consequences and even uses abusive language. Enclosing 18 leaf communication, the Commission said that Raj Kumar even calls to the employees late in the night and threatens to eliminate them. |
