early times report Kathua, Sept 26: A deputation of Kathua Vikas Manch (KVM) Kathua called on Jitendra Kumar Singh the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kathua in his office chamber presented him a charter of demands regarding development of Kathua. Led by Prof Ram Murti Sharma President KVM, the office bearers and members of KVM demanded early assessment of the loss of property and damage caused due to heavy rains/floods and provision of financial assistance to the effective people under SDRF scheme. Other demands raised during meeting were beautification of strip between Canal and Link Road Sawan Chak to Kuka Chak, Proper implementation of JNURM programme and allied schemes, Separate district of Bani, Basohli and Billawar tehsils & promotion of Urdu language in this district. Deputatoinists also demanded better cellular connectivity in Dilwan, Mehtabpur and adjoining Panchayats and traffic regulation on Kali Bari - Hatli Morh Road. DDC Kathua assured KVM deputation that relief to the rain/flood hit people will be given within a week. Besides this, he apprised that a project regarding beautification of Canal Road area has been sent to the planning department. The DDC also assured for permitting the operator of Matadors and Auto Rikshaws for Chak Riju-Govindsar and Jagatpur via Beddian Pattan Pitamber Dutt Sharma(Gen Secy), Dr Kuldeep Kumar Mahotra, Om Parkash Sharma, Desh Raj Gupta, Babu Ram Bhagat, Mohinder Nath Sharma , and others who were part of deputation thanked the DDC Kathua for his keenness expressed to their issues.
