Jammu, Oct 27: A six days workshop on 'Adolescence Education Programme' conducted by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), Jammu Region concluded at KV No.1, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. Prof. K S R Koteswara Rao, Department of Physics, Indian Institute of Science, Banglore was the Chief Guest and Prof. Anjali Gurtoo, Department of Physics, Indian Institute of Science, Banglore was the guest of Honour on the occasion. Speaking on this occasion, Usha Shamendra highlighted the main features of the workshop of Adolescence Programme. She informed that the nodal teachers who have been trained here will go back to their respective Vidyalayas and share their knowlegde with their colleagues and further impart training in handling the problems of the adolescents in their vidyalayas. A Cultural Programme consisting of multi-lingual songs and folk danced as well as Kathak Dance were presented by the participants of the Workshop. The event is a part of the National Adolescence Education Programme (NAEP). Various topics and issues were undertaken during the workshop that included -Adolescence Related Issues; Drug & Substance Abuse; HIV-AIDS; RTI, STI etc. stressed on the strategies like Case Studies, Peer Facilitation were discussed to make pave in handling these issues.
