Kishtwar, Oct 27 : District Congress Committee Kishtwar group headed by District President Pardeep Singh Parihar known for his close proximity to JKPCC President Saif-ud-Din Soz today accused former Minister and MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori off failure in delivering and demanded his replacement with a candidate from minority community. While talking to "Early Times" Parihaar said that Saroori has fail to deliver and added that majority of the people hailing from Inderwal constituency are not happy with Saroori. He said that Congress party is a secular party and every community must get a chance of representation. "In last assembly election party files candidate from minority community from Kishtwar constituency, now it is the turn of Inderwal constituency" said he. He said that the decision in this regard was taken jointly by several Congress representatives present in the meeting chaired by him and was also attended by BCC president Kishtwar Haji Ghulam Hassan Mir, BCC President Padder Nek Ram Manhas, Former DYCC President Advocate Sheikh Nasir Hussain, IYC President Kishtwar Nadeem Iqbal, Mahila Congress President Parwati Devi and President Kissan Cell Ghulab Chand.
He claimed that all the participants made unanimous appeal to the party President and party high command not to repeat Saroori as a party candidate from Inderwal and instead filed a candidate from a minority community.
When asked if party tunred down his demand, Parihar said that all of them are bound by the decision of party high command. He said that in case party high command decided to repeat Saroori as a candidate from Inderwal, they will extend all his support to him. The Committee has alleged that some vested interests within the party are bent upon to malign the image of Ghulam Nabi Azad and Prof. Saif-ud-Din Soz. While addressing a meeting all the leaders said that few persons claiming to be the congressmen have always tried to tarnish the image of the party leaders.
They said "Be it occasion of cabinet expansion or dismissal from ministry they have hold protests and even raised slogans against the party high command".
While reacting over a latest statement , wherein serious allegations were leveled upon Gh. Nabi Azad for favoring a political family of Kishtwar because of having relations, the Congress leaders have said that it was because of Azad out of six seats in Chenab region which was once known as strong hold of National Conference, Congress represents five among them. While appreciating the role of Prof Saif-ud-Soz , the Congress leader said that under the leadership of Prof. Soz the Congress has flourished in the state and it is because of this reason prominent figures from other parties are coming under Congress folds.
They have further said that both the leaders are the symbol of secularism and people of the state are indebted to them. DCC leaders have criticized the role of few workers and have termed them as agents of communal forces who are allegedly trying to create divide within the party. It was informed that a list of all those workers have been provided to the high command who are trying to damage the party. DCC leaders have also shown concern over the working of few leaders who are allegedly making fake appointments of Block Presidents and working presidents who are having no authority to do so and on the instigation of these leaders few workers have opened parallel offices. They made an appealed the party high command to take disciplinary action against these persons. Congress leaders have also expressed their hopes that Smt. Ambika Soni who is a dedicated and disciplined leader will intervene and save the party in region from any conspiracy. It is pertinent to mention that the statement of the District President Congress Kishtwar comes in wake of the report published in "Early Times" edition of 13-10-2013 titled as "Congress wants to field Haider from Kishtwar constituency" in which the Congress party leaders having close proximity with Ghulam Nabi Azad including the Congress candidate in 2009 Assembly from Kishtwar showed their support in favour of veteran party leader Ghulam Haider Sheikh who narrowly lost to Kichloo in 2002 elections .
