J&K police Cops turn dacoits, loot gold merchants; inquiry initiated
SI Neelam Saini censured, 11 more transferred

JAMMU, Oct 27: Two cops posted in district Jammu have been penalized in the shape of their transfer to Doda -Kishtwar- Ramban (DKR) range.
Besides, an inquiry has been initiated against them following a complaint of robbing lakhs of rupees from two Amritsar based gold merchants. Another cop namely SI Neelam Saini who had been facing departmental inquiry for taking an accused doctor, involved in abortion of mentally retarded girls, with her from the custody of Police Station Women Cell has been censured by the police department.
Censure notice would effect her further promotion. Meanwhile, SSP Jammu Atul Kumar Goel ordered transfer and posting of eleven Inspectors and Sub-Inspectors with immediate effect. The transfers made effective following the posting of two cops in another zone. The cops were penalized following complaint lodged with DIG Jammu, a copy of which has been forwarded to IGP as well as DGP.
According to the complaint, two Janbaz sepoy robbed Rs 2 lakh 70 thousand from gold merchants on gun point. However, a senior police officer when contacted said that both the cops would be booked under relevant section for the act they did and for bringing ignominy to the Khaki. He further said that both the officers would face inquiry and the job of the same has been entrusted to SP North Yougal Manhas.
Two cops namely Inspector Rajesh Jasrotia, posted as SHO City and Sub-Inspector JP Singh,posted as IC/PP Hari Market allegedly robbed Rs 2.70 lakh from two Amritsar based gold merchants in Ragunath Bazar. It is alleged that on 21.10.2013, the SHO City Rajesh Jasrotia intercepted the gold merchant namely Sanjeev Kumar son of Krishan Lal of H.No 107, Krishan Kot, Islamabad, Amritsar and his companion namely Ajay Kumar and took them in a Ragunath Bazar based hotel where he and SI J P Sharma snatched Rs 1.50 lakh from them.
Both were in possession of Rs 2.20 lakh and were on way to Amritsar after collecting money from Jain Bazaar based jewellers when lifted by two cops. Both were threatened of fake encounter at River Tawi if they disclosed the incident to anybody and were later dropped at Satwari Chowk. On reaching, Amritsar, aggrieved person informed his association where he came to know that he was not the first person who was robbed of lakhs of rupees by the Janbaaz sepoy of Jammu and Kashmir police as earlier also one Jasbir Singh son of Charan Singh of Gali No 1,Ho No 5,Sant Aveneu, Amritsar had also been robbed of Rs 1.20 lakh by IC/PP Hari Market J.P Singh.
Meanwhile, SSP Jammu ordered transfer of eleven Inspectors and Sub Inspectors and posted them as SHO and IC/PP in different police stations. As per order,Inspector Bharat Sharma has been transferred from Police Station R.S Pura and posted as SHO City, Inspector Surinder Singh transferred from Police Station Gangyal and posted as SHO RSPura, Inspector Gurnam Singh has been posted as SHO Bus-Stand, Inspector Satvir Singh who was SHO Bus Stand was shown the door of DPL,SI Jasbir Singh transferred from Police Post Chatha and posted to Police Station Gangyal as SHO, SI Kamal Kishore has been transferred from Police Station Nowabad and posted in Police Station Pacca Danga as IO.
SI Sanjay Kumar Raina transferred from Police Post Chowk Chabutra and posted in Police Station Bahu Fort,SI Sukhbir Singh from DPL to PP Chatha as IC/PP,SI Vikas Kant Parihar from Police Station Bahu Fort to Police Station Nowabad as IO,SI Rajeev Vaid from Police Station Pacca Danga to Police Post Chowk Chabutra as IC/PP and SI Neelam Saini who was facing the tune of departmental inquiry has been posted as IC/PP Hari Market.
