Jammu, Oct 27: Member Parliament Jammu-Poonch Constituency Madan Lal Sharma stressed on the need for upliftment of weaker sections of the society. While addressing a largely attended public meeting at Mandal in Samba Constituency, Sharma said that UPA Govt. led by Congress has allocated lot of money for ST, SC, RBA and OBC's but unfortunately it is not reaching to those whom it is required mostly. He asked the people to avail benefits under various central and social protection schemes run by the Govt.
He also directed the sectoral officers to guide people and ensure that they get benefit of such schemes. He also laid stress on social audit and asked the community leaders to monitor and keep close vigil on these programmes. He directed the officers to make special projects of kandi and neglected areas so that such areas also get due share. Sharma also felt the need of promoting communal harmony in view of prevailing situation. He said that India is a secular country and bonds of amity and brotherhood are very strong and every body should work to supplement the effort. |
