| Vridh Ashram holds annual meeting | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 27: Vridh Ashram today held annual meeting under the chairmanship of its president Dwarka Nath Gupta which was attended by a large number of members of society. The annual report and audited accounts for the year 2012-13 presented by Secretary Er. Vijay Kumar Bhagotra was adopted by the house. The house appreciated sincere efforts put in by the managing committee for improvement in overall functioning of home and living conditions of its inmates. New managing committee headed by Professor Vidya Nath Gupta as president and Er. Vijay Kumar Bhagotra as Secretary was unanimously elected for a term of three years. And in view of his untiring services for last over two decades towards welfare of inmates and efficient over all functioning of this home, the former president Dwarka Nath Gupta was nominated as its patron -in-chief. Two male and two female representatives of the inmates expressed satisfaction with the amenities, facilities and medical care etc being provided to them by the home and appreciated the sincere efforts put in by the management for their overall welfare. Professor Vidya Nath Gupta appealed the general public for liberal donations in cash and inkind on regular basis for day to day needs of inmates and further improvement in their facilities and amenities as well as maintenance of requisite infrastructure and assets of home. He also expressed gratitude to his Excellency the governor for financial assistance amounting to Rs.1, 00,000 during the year2012-13. Gupta informed that a recreation centre for senior citizens has been sset up in this home which is provided with free facilities TV, Library, Indoor Games etc. where they can interact among themselves and with inmates of home as well. He appealed the senior citizens to avail this facility at large to visit the home at their convenience and interact with the inmates so that they do not feel neglected by the society for whose welfare they had also contributed during their active past life as they are starving for emotional touch at this stage of their life. |
