MFJ demands early establishment of approved Pahari, Gojri research center at JU
'Ongoing struggle was fight between secular, communal forces': Adv Choudhary

Jammu, Oct 27: Criticising the action taken against situation by vice chancellor of Jammu university and demanding revocation of rustications and suspensions of students, movement for justice for Refugee of 1947 (MJR) organized a protest demonstration in front of press club today MFJ is a joint front of fifteen different social and students organizations formed to fight prevalent social and economic injustice in the society.
Speaking on the occasion Amir-ud-din Kassana, of JKGBC said, "University is using delay tactics to establish Pahari and Gojri research center which was approved in 2008 by university council. University authorities are using goons and putting false cases on students to put pressure on them. These tactics are not going to work because whole PAHARI, GUJJAR community as well as justice loving people are with students" Advocate Anwar Chowdhary of Jammu Kashmir Gujjar Bakkarwal Conference stressed upon the fact that the ongoing struggle was fight between secular and communal forces. Vice-chancellor in the university promoting and providing shelter to the goons of particular right wing formations. "VC is even proving economic support to the goons by facilitating allotment of canteens", he said, adding that that was responsibility of every citizens to fight against these forces who are destroying a secular sand democratic fabric of society. Another speaker Advocate Jamil Kazmi General Secretary of International Democratic Party said that in a democratic society every regional language should get promotion on equal level. It is the duty of the govt. to facilitate different regional cultures and languages to grow otherwise it will create a situation of regional and cultural divide. Goons of VC beat up protesting students on September 12, 2013. Those students complained VC in written but no FIR had been lodged against them. "This shows discriminatory attitude of university authorities. This is injustice against those who are fighting for just cause", he added. Cathleen Kour and Marvi Slathia of progressive students association (PSA) stressed on limited space for women in politics and the kind of slander campaign had done against political women. This was encouraged by political formations and university authorities.
Other speakers spoke on the occasion were Chowdhary Nazakat Khatana from JK Gujjar Bakkarwal Youth Desh, Haji Saif Ali of Gujjar Bakkarwal J&K state, Krishan Lal Soodan from MJR-47, Ataullah Niazi of GBSWA, Vaishno Dutt Bhatti and Nirdosh Uppal of CITU. In the end of the protest all the organizations unanimously passed a resolution to fight for the establishment of Pahari and Gojri Research Center till end.
