| SUF welcomes Govt decision to conduct elections | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 27: Jammu and Kashmir various Sikh organizations under the banner of Sikh United Front(SUF) today welcome the government decision to conduct the Jammu and Kashmir Sikh Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee( JKSGPC) elections on January 15, 2014.
The Sikh Organization who participated included Bhai Kanaya Nishkam Seva Society, All India Sikh Student federation, Sikh Welfare Society, Sikh Naujawan Sabha and Gurmat vicher Manch. Addressing the media person, SUF General Secretary Avtar Singh Khalsa said that we highly appreciate the decision of holding Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee elections by the personal efforts of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Law Parliamentary and Gurudwara affairs Minister Janab Saifullha.
"The elections are due since a long time and could not hold in time due to putting by some self interest people in the courts to leger on the election process. The Division Bench of J&K High Court in Jammu has directed the State Government to conduct the Gurudwara Election within Six Months Period in the mean while the charge of Gurudwara affairs is handed over to Div com Jammu" said Avtar Singh. |
