Et Report JAMMU, Oct 27: The road to the tourist spot of Jammu region 'Surinsar lake' has virtually turned into slush pond , endangering lives of those traveling on it. While the authorities have turned a blind eye towards prevailing mess on the complex, the local residents and school children have been facing umpteen hardships as it has become difficult to even walk in the area because of knee-deep mud and slush."It appears that we have been living in medieval era as mud and slush have taken over the road, where we expect tourists from the outer states to visit. The main road connecting Surinsar lake is full of slush and potholes but the authorities didn't bother to repair the damaged portion resulting into uncounted miseries for the pedestrians," Suresh Kumar, a local resident of Bajalta said. "A few two-wheeler riders even have received injuries after their vehicles slipped in the area but the authorities seem to be waiting for a big tragedy to happen," he added. Ramesh chander, a tourist said, "I had seen the Surinsar lake on internet, I wanted to go there, the lake was so beautiful, but the road was in miserable condition. I think government shold explore this spot, but firstly the road should be repaired." |
