KISHTWAR, Oct 27: In a bid to cross examine key witnesses in August 9,2013 Kishtwar communal clashes, District Magistrate Kishtwar summoned over 100 persons who had submitted written affidavit before the justice Gandhi Commission of Inquiry constituted by the government to probe incidents of violence and arson that took place in Kishtwar, DC has summoned over 100 people vide letter No: 1252-89 dated 26-10-2013 who had submitted written affidavit before the justice Gandhi Commission of Inquiry constituted by the government to probe incidents of violence and arson that took place in Kishtwar, besides role of former MOS Home Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo. As per details, Justice Gandhi will cross examine 107 persons during three days viz 29, 30 and 31 October, 2013 at Tourist Reception centre.As per the reports available with "Early Times", Justice Gandhi is busy in giving final touches to his report and is likely to submit it by November 5. Sources said that the report of Justice R.C.Gandhi is almost complete and added that before submitting his final report, Justice Gandhi wants to have a re-look on certain things which he mentioned in his report.Sources added that in case Justice Gandhi demanded more time for submitting his report, the government will ask him instead of filling of detail report to submit his preliminary report on whether the former MOS Home is guilty or innocent so that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will take a final decision on his re-induction into his council of ministers. It is pertinent to mention that on August 23rd, 2013 government nominated former High Court Judge, Justice (Retd) RC Gandhi as Commission of Inquiry to enquire into the August 9 communal clashes and subsequent incidents of violence in one month, but on 27th of September 2013 government of Jammu and Kashmir give extension to the commission to probe the Kishtwar violence which expires today. Government order further reads that the Commission will also enquire into the circumstances which led to the violence and arson and the consequent loss of life and property and also the administrative lapses, if any, while handling the situation. Justice Gandhi in his inquiry will also fix the responsibility of the persons, involved in acts of violence, arson and the loss of life and property. |
