| DAV Schools' sports meet begins at MHAC | | | Sports Reporter
JAMMU, Nov 12: Annual cluster level inter-school sports meet of DAV Schools in two disciplines of athletics and skating got underway at MHAC School Nagbani grounds, here today.
The competition was declared open by Captain Dewan Singh, who was chief guest. He took salute of the march past by nine participating schools from neighbouring Punjab and Jammu.
The oath for fair play was administered to the participants by MHAC Sports Captain, Amrit Kour. It was followed by the lighting of ceremonial touch amidst chanting of Mantras.
The opening day witnessed competition in both field and track events of athletics in boys and girls sections as also those rink races in skating. Two-day meet shall be concluded tomorrow with the holding of valedictory function.
Earlier, Principal of the School, Alok Betab welcomed the chief guest those participating teams. He informed the gathering that the MHAC School was entrusted with the task to host two events of skating and athletics. |
