| Omar's fast track employment fails to take off | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Nov 12: Chief Minister's fast track appointment project has failed to take off owing to administrative lethargy. Despite repeated directions of the Chief Minister, advertisement of the posts, interviews and other formalities have not started as yet subjecting the unemployed youth to psychological torture. The Chief Minister, it may be mentioned had promised 80000 jobs on fast track basis early this year. The SSRB in particular was directed to fill around 20000 posts on a war footing-basis. Although screen tests have been held for various posts but results have not been declared. Curiously the SSRB charged a good amount of money from the aspirants who now accuse the recruiting agency of `extortion' in the garb of employment. The aspirants also are not happy with the procedure laid down by the SSRB. For example for the post of teacher, the aspirant gets 65 points for written test. Higher qualification fetches an aspirant 15 points and interview 20 points. On the contrary for other posts 80 points have been allotted to the written test and 20 for interview. The candidates are also not happy over the recruitment process. The selected candidates would draw a meager amount of Rs 3000 for the first two years and 5, 525 for the next three years. "This is a crude joke in the guise of employment," said an aspirant. Most of the candidates who have applied for jobs are dismayed. According to them, the Government must change the recruitment process. The chairperson of the SSRB, Shagufta Parveen said that the process to fill the vacancies is on and very soon, the results would be announced. However, she did not give an exact date of results. |
