| Held for posting threatening letters to school | | Teacher masquerading as militant | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 12: Samba police arrested a private school teacher for posting threatening letters to school in Samba. The accused was identified as Parveen Singh Rathore son of Mohan Singh of Nonath, Ghagwal in Samba. He was a teacher at Modern Educational Institute in Samba. Police said that Principal of the school Amarjeet Sharma approached with the complaint that his school has received threatening letters from militants. Acting on the complaint, police registered a case under FIR Number 88 of 2013 under sections 505 and 426 of RPC at police station Ghagwal and started investigation. The investigation was carried out by DySP Hilal Khaliq Bhat incharge SHO police station Ghagwal, DySP Headquarter Munish Anand, Additional SP Shailendra Rajesh Mishra and SSP Samba Israr Khan. During the course of investigation, the police officials collected writing samples from the two schools in Ghagwal who had received the threatening letters. "The writing was compared with the threat letters and then they took samples from Urdu knowing students and teachers but only two teachers were able to write the language" Investigating Officer, DySP Hilal Khaliq Bhat said. Bhat said though one teacher was not able to write properly in Urdu language but the Rathore's writing was matching with the letters. "We put him to sustained questioning during which he broke down. He confessed to have written the letters to spread panic among the people," the police investigating police officer said. He did not give any concrete reason of writing threat letters, the officer said, adding he was immediately arrested. DySP Bhat further informed that the accused had made four stars on the corners of the page to show as if it was issued by the militant groups. It may be mentioned here that the letters were recovered from the school premises two schools at Ghagwal (Samba) just before the visit of Sushil Kumar Shinde, Union Home Minister who has come to Samba aftermath twin militant's attack at Hiranagar and Samba. |
