Avinash Azad JAMMU, Nov 12: More skeletons have tumbled out of the cupboard of JAKFED, bringing to the fore a new scam in land of JAKFED in Delhi, which was given to a private entrepreneur for 10 years, pinching around Rs. 10 Cr. from its exchequer. Furthermore, the report compiled by the then management of JAKFED over multi Crores embezzlement of funds by General Manager (GM), which was submitted to the then Chairman Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma, has clandestinely disappeared from the face of the earth. The tenure of Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma as Chairman of Federation was expired on June, 26, 2012, following which report was lost and no action has been taken against any corrupt official. Documents in the possession of Early Times divulged that former, General Manger, JAKFED using his official power illegitimately provided JAKFED's leased space measuring 485 square feet land located at C-block covered shed (Opp.C-123) NSM, Azadpur Delhi to third party. Astonishingly, in March 2011, JAKFED's management submitted its reports over embezzlements made by the then GM, GL Abrol to Chairman JAKFED, Minister of State, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma but no action was taken against the king pin by the chairman. "MoS Dr Manohar Lal Sharma's term of JAKFED Chairman was expired on June 26, 2012, since the federation is functioning with chairman", sources said, adding that the mysterious silent of Minister over the scam has been cost more on the part of federation. According to documents, September 4, 2002 Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) Delhi had allotted space to Jammu and Kashmir Co-operative Supply and Marketing Federation Ltd. "Since then fraudulently, the then General Manager, JAKFED allotted said space to third party, between 2002 to 2011 the space was illegally used by the third party", the sources said. During said period the JAKFED suffered financial loss of more than Rs 10 crore. When the misdeed came to notice of Management, the management managed had re-acquired the space in 2011. "Since then, the space is laying useless, the Federation is not serving the purpose, for which the land was leased-out", sources said, adding that in year 2012 the JAKFED spent Rs 3.5 lakhs to fence the space. "But owing to callous approaches JAKFED and J&K Government, the fence space belong to federation is laying useless for more than a year again", the sources said. |
