Srinagar, Nov 12: In an effort to boost unity, Ulemas, Political leaders and Civil society members on the 7th day of Muharram-ul-Haram, under the banner of Shia-Sunni Coordination Committee took out an impressive procession from Kathi Darwaza, old city.
Agha Syed Hassan Al Moosivi, Moulana Abbas Ansari, G.N Zaki, Advocate Zahid Ali, Salim geelani, Khursheed Ahmad Qanungo, Hakim Abdul Rashid, Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi, Master Mohamamd Hussain, GN nagoo including hundreds of people participated in the procession.
The procession in itself was representative of glorious brotherhood relations between the two communities. The procession passed through Hassnabad and concluded at Matam Sarai.
During the procession, hundreds of people paid rich tributes to martyrs of Karbala, Hazrat Iman Hussian (RA) and his companions.
On the occasion the members of Shia-Sunni Coordination Committee appealed people to maintain inter-community bonhomie saying some miscreants were hell bent to tear apart the century old fabric of shia sunni brotherhood. |
