| Red Cross to impart training at Panchayat Level: Roma Wani | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 12 : Red Cross in Jammu & Kashmir has decided to reach people and impart trainings at Panchayat level. This was stated by the General Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu & Kashmir State, Roma Wani during the valedictory function of two-day Youth & Junior Red Cross counselors training program organized here in Jammu. The training was first of its kind in Jammu region where over 30 Counselors from different districts of Jammu province participated. Roma Wani, who addressed the participants, spoke on the measures to be taken in disaster management. She elaborated on the significance of the said training to counselors; she said counselors must strive for giving direction to youth in serving the humanity through volunteerism and should establish Red Cross units and Red Cross First Aid Centers in Schools and College. Roma said that counselors should disseminate about the Red Cross movement among the students and also inculcate the spirit of voluntary service by organizing rallies, workshops, Seminars and more over celebration of important events. Roma further said that we believe first aid training is a life skill that everyone can and should learn. She said that IRCS -JK will provide opportunity to everyone to learn the skills and gain the confidence to save life. On the occasion, Roma Wani also announced that Red Cross will reach to people and will impart training at Panchayat level. Roma Wani further said that Red Cross will impart such trainings in the corporate sector in Jammu region and will also initiate safety assessment for buildings and imparted trainings on disaster preparedness and family news service in the region. |
