Jammu, Nov 12: NHPC Limited organized 'State Level Painting Competition on Energy Conservation-2013'at Gen Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu.
Meritorious students holding 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions in various categories were awarded Rs. 10,000, 8,000 & 5,000 respectively while 20 students were awarded consolation prizes of Rs, 1,000 each in an impressive prize distribution function, presided over by Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Division Shantmanu.
Earlier, as many as 2249 Schools & 1,57,912 students from the State of J&K participated in the School Level Painting Competition from both the categories.
On Nov.5th, Jury consisting of eminent Artists and representatives from State Education Deptt., selected 100 paintings out of 4498 paintings received from various schools of J&K State.
Speaking on the occasion Divisional Commissioner Jammu Shantmanu said that this is a matter of pride that our small school children along with their parents are part of the Energy Conservation Campaign launched by Ministry of Power, Govt, of India & Bureau of Energy Efficiency which shall help a long way in power conservation in the country. |
