| PCC ridicules Geelani's statement on violence | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 12: Pradesh Congress Committee General Secretary and Spokesperson, Ravinder Sharma-MLC has severely criticized the statement of Separatist leader Sayeed Ali Shah Geelani, in which he has suggested use of gun as a means to resolve the Kashmir issue. Strongly condemning the statement, JKPCC has said that no civilized society or religion has justified violence or killing of innocents for resolving any issue. "Such statements need to be rejected with contempt it deserve and condemned in the strongest possible words," he said.
Sharma said the statement is aimed at vitiating the atmosphere of peace and harmony and pushing the state back into the era of violence and bloodshed which brought lot of destruction and miseries to the people of Kashmir.
He said the people of Kashmir have rejected the cult of gun and secured peace after lot of sacrifices for a better future and would not allow such designs to succeed. |
