JAMMU, Nov 12 : As a part of the ongoing enforcement drive by the Motor Vehicles Department a team comprising of RTO Jammu, ARTO Jammu, Chief Inspector Board of inspection, Jammu and Motor Vehicle Inspectors today conducted extensive checking of vehicles on the National Highway (from Jammu to Samba).
With a view to curb the menace of traffic violations a number of vehicles viz passenger interstate buses, trucks and mini buses were checked for violation of the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.
The team challaned 24 vehicles and imposed 53 compositions on the offending vehicles for violations ranging from over loading to route permit violations.
A total fine amounting to Rs.1.61 lakh was realized from the offenders on spot. |
