Udhampur, Nov 19: Continuing the drive against traffic rule violators, Police today booked 54 offenders for violating traffic rule.
SSP Udhampur Anil Magotra, said to curb the menace of accidents, traffic jam at National Highway in main markets of Udhampur town and all other major peripheral towns of district Udhampur, a drive was launched by Udhampur Police to curb the menace of traffic rule violations in which 197 offenders were booked in last week. Police today booked 54 more offenders for traffic rule violation within last 24 hours, he added.
He said apart from the action under law against the violators, general public was educated with regard to the traffic rules for their safety. All the territorial officers were directed to strictly deal with the traffic rule violators under law especially overloading in the passenger vehicles commuting from far flung areas of Udhampur like Pancheri, Basantgarh, Latti, he added.
