| Girls hold rally to create awareness among female voters | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Reasi, Nov 19: In order to create awareness among the female voters, hundred of girls students from Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School Reasi held an awareness rally at Reasi today. The rally which was flagged off by DDC Reasi Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary was a part of massive "Special Voters Awareness Drive" launched in District Reasi earlier this month under SVEEP. Aim of the rally was to create awareness regarding importance of vote and electoral participation which was highlighted by the school girls. Speaking on the occasion Dr Choudhary said " through such rallies , the students attempted to convey a subtle message and tell people the importance of their votes in deciding the future of the country". The students will also carry this message to their homes, he added.
He further said that for the purpose of increasing participation of voters , all departments have been asked to carry out massive public campaigns and special focus is on women and youth. So educational institutions are focussed especially and awareness through anganwardi workers also planned. A well planned strategy to ensure increased voter turnout in district has been made and a series of outreached measures like debates, processions, street plays quiz competition are being organised.
