| Principal GGM Science College misusing funds, alleges NSUI | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 19: Students of various colleges and the University of Jammu today held a massive protest demonstration against the Principal GGM Sc. College under the banner of National Students Union of India (NSUI). The protest was lead by Nitin Bakshi and Kamal.
Activists of the NSUI from various Educational Institutions gathered in front of the main gate of university of Jammu where they started raising slogans against principal GGM Sc. College and higher education authorities.
They alleged that the said college administration has been misusing the funds of the college since the present principal took the charge of the College.
NSUI activists while speaking on the occasion said that the college authorities were in deep slumber since long and now they have started construction/preparing works in hurry in the wake of the visit of NAAC Team on Nov 20.
Hence due to the shortage of time they have allotted a bulk of work carried out in the college premises to his favorites and that too without any tender. As the building of the college is announced as the historical building and therefore the principal of the college has no right to interrupt in the repair of the building. As for his personal interest and for commissions he gave this work to his favorites and when some of the media person consults to some of the members of the college they put the shelter of the NAAC team that was came in the college.
They said that not only this, the college administration also tempered the historical college building without any prior permission from the concern department who are meant for the preservation of historical and heritage building.
The activists demanded immediate removal of the said principal and initiate inquiry against the high level of misuse of funds and lots of non-tendered works that is going on in the college which is only meant for the betterment of the student community and not for anybody is personal pocket. They further want the authority to act swiftly in this regard otherwise they will be force to hold similar protest demonstration in front of NAAC team on their visit. The others who were present are Naseeb Ali, Abhijot, Neeraj, Sumit, Pradeep and many others. |
