11 bovine rescued, two held

Udhampur, Nov 19: Police claimed to have arrested two persons in bovine smuggling and rescued 11 bovine at Kud. On specific input, a police team of Police Station Kud under the supervision of Gian Chand Sharma, SDPO Chenani laid a surprise Naka near Kud in the wee hours and intercepted a truck bearing Registration No. JK02AC-0797. During search of the vehicle 11 Bovine animals were found loaded inside the vehicle.
The arrested smugglers were identified as Liaqat Ali son of Mohammad Hanif resident of Kehri Bishnah Jammu, Surjit Singh son of Suraj Ram resident of Sangoor Reasi were arrested on the spot and vehicle used for smuggling seized. A case FIR No.132/2013 U/S 188/RPA has been stands registered and investigation is going on.
