| Back dated transfers in Education department | | DC Kishtwar seizes dispatch register, puts transfers in abeyance | | Asif Iqbal Naik Jammu, Mar 10: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ahmed Khan while scrutinizing the records of the Office of Chief Education Officer reportedly detected some back dated numbers in a dispatch registered maintained by the office with regard to departmental correspondence and transfers. As per the details, DC Kishtwar in a surprise raid few days back at the office of CEO seized dispatched register and found few blank pages in the register. He also found back dated numbers kept reserved. The Deputy Commissioner's action came in wake of the complaint lodged by some members of teaching fraternity and politicians. The sources informed the "Early Times" that nearly 147 transfers of teachers were issued in back date which created a hue and cry, beside great resentment among the teaching community. The sources further added that beside transfers of teachers, transfers of masters have also been issued. Insider informed that after detecting the loopholes in transfers and in dispatch register, the DC put all the transfers in abeyance till further orders. He also declared the left out dispatched numbers as null and wide and reportedly returned the dispatch register to the department after putting the same in order. The teaching community and the victims of these transfers hailed the decision of Deputy Commissioner. It is pertinent to mention that reports of raids in various offices of education department come in the wake of "Early Times" report in which the newspaper highlight the practice of illegal transfer in various parts of the state even after announcement of Model Code of Conduct by Election Commissioner of India |
